2026 Holy Days of Obligation

Diocese of Orlando

In addition to all Sundays, Catholics are obliged to attend Mass on the following Holy Days of Obligation in 2026:

• Thursday, January 1
  Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God
• Sunday, May 17
  Ascension of the Lord
  (Observed on Sunday in the Diocese of Orlando)
• Sunday, November 1
  All Saints’ Day
• Tuesday, December 8
  Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  (Patronal Feast of the United States)
• Friday, December 25
  The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)

Please note:

• The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15) falls on a Saturday in 2026; therefore, the obligation is abrogated.
• The Ascension is not observed on Thursday in Florida but is transferred to Sunday.
